I noticed that my JDM 6 speed was leaking a little fluid and after inspection came to the conclusion that it must have been leaking from the seal that is located on the main input shaft. So from the symptoms, what am I likely looking at here -- a leaking rear main seal? If yes, this is not something I would choose to tackle, so what kind of cost should I expect a (non-dealer) shop to charge to replace the seal? Are there other possibilities besides the rear main seal?
